For Frewsburg's part, Mason Eckman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Eckman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Frewsburg's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-0-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Chase Haglund was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
