Bettye Davis East Anchorage took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Service as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.
Sela Rodriguez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Aaliyah Villafuerte was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Penina Tali, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Bettye Davis East Anchorage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Ogee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Rachel Whetten was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
