3A Region 2 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Aberdeen extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 2 this week by beating South Pontotoc, 39-3. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Bulldogs.
Water Valley took down Mantachie 56-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. E J Bounds threw for 38 yards and one touchdown and ran for 72 yards in the win.
Aberdeen's dynamic duo of Josh Williams and Trey Mims proved tough for the Cougars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns and Mims had 37 yards receiving. Jeremy Brandon helped Aberdeen's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Nettleton's Dakota Cruber and Levert Jernigan have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cruber has thrown for 2238 yards this season, while Jernigan has 46 catches for 720 yards. Mark Bray's team's Chico Harrison leads the league in rushing yards with 874.
The Blue Devils led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on the Mustangs. Bounds in the win.
