Gretna East was led to victory by Connor Sams and Chase Grow. Sams rushed for 213 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, while Grow rushed for 105 yards and three scores on only nine carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Grow a new career-high.
Several SkyHawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Conor Mogensen, who threw for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Lucas Heller, who picked up 69 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Gretna East's record now sits at 10-1. As for Skutt Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
