The Hurricane Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 76-64 to Crimson Cliffs. Hurricane has not had much luck with Crimson Cliffs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Hurricane had strong showings from Quinn Gubler, who scored 19 points, and Rj Hurst, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gubler has scored all season. Calan Hughes was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Hurricane has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Crimson Cliffs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Hurricane will head out on the road to square off against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Snow Canyon's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Hurricane has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Crimson Cliffs will take on Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Pine View is ranked 19th, while Crimson Cliffs is ranked 32nd).
