Maziah Shelton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points. Alaya Redditt was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Plainfield South had strong showings from Jazlynn Foster, who scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds, and Destynia Mcgruder, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 blocks. The matchup was Mcgruder's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demi Page, who scored 7 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Joliet West and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Plainfield South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Joliet West will be playing in front of their home fans against Romeoville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Romeoville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Joliet West in Illinois (Romeoville is ranked 132nd, while Joliet West is ranked 391st). As for Plainfield South, they will head out on the road to face off against DeKalb at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
