  Brylee Reed was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just one earned  (and nine unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Reed was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Addi Adams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3.  Olivia Lowry was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Martinsville  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. That's the fewest  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Oblong's victory bumped their record up to 5-11-1. As for Martinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
