The University Trojans pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between University and Woodbridge wasn't particularly close, with University falling 71-56. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while Woodbridge is ranked 128th).
University lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Christian Debarge, who scored 16 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Gawdat, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
University bumped their record down to 7-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Woodbridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
University will look to defend their home court on Friday against Portola at 7:00 p.m. Portola has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Woodbridge, they will head out on the road to square off against Sage Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sage Hill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
