The Longmeadow Lancers pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Springfield International. Longmeadow was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Springfield International apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 9th.
Springfield International found their leader in underclassman Allanah Chambers, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 24 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chambers has scored all season. Giavanna Mars was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Longmeadow and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Springfield International, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longmeadow will take on West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Springfield is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Springfield International, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Central is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
