Basketball Recap: Rocklin Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

Rocklin had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Davis Sr. Blue Devils as they made off with a 64-40 victory. The Thunder have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Rocklin was led to victory by Mark Lavrenov and Connor Bow. Lavrenov dropped a double-double with 15 points and 16 boards, while Bow posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Lavrenov has become a key player for Rocklin: the team is 16-4 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Connor Delaby, who put up ten points.

Rocklin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Davis Sr. lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaleb Gee, who had eight points and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024. Nico Dunn was another key player, putting up six points.

Rocklin pushed their record up to 19-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. As for Davis Sr., they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 18 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.

Rocklin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-46 victory against Whitney on the 14th. As for Davis Sr., they have also already played their next contest, a 78-57 loss against Jesuit on the 14th.
