The Saratoga Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cupertino Pioneers at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Saratoga posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 victory over Monta Vista.
Meanwhile, Cupertino had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They really took it to Lynbrook for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-32 victory at home. With Cupertino ahead 37-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Cupertino had a senior duo take command as Max Lin went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assist and Max Feldan scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Lin scored 15 or more points. Justin Yu was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Saratoga has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Cupertino, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Saratoga strolled past Cupertino in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 55-36. Will Saratoga repeat their success, or does Cupertino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
