The Atlantic City Vikings entered their tilt with the St. Augustine Prep Hermits with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Atlantic City narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hermits 46-43. For Atlantic City, this counts as revenge for the 66-51 defeat the Hermits walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Atlantic City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khajuan Roseborough, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Roseborough is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Finks, who scored 12 points.
Atlantic City's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for St. Augustine Prep, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic City has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Greyhounds at 2:00 p.m. on February 4th. Pleasantville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Vikings are ranked 52nd). As for St. Augustine Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Sunday against the Pirates at 1:00 p.m. Cinnaminson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Hermits like a good challenge.
