Mount St. Mary was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mannford apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Mannford was led to victory by Brayden Rodriguez and Max Moore. Rodriguez rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, while Moore rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Mount St. Mary's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.8 points per game. As for Mannford, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.
Mount St. Mary will face off against McLoud at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mannford, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Perkins-Tryon at 7:00 p.m. Perkins-Tryon will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
