Even though the Tuscola Mountaineers scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the Cherokee Braves still came out on top. Cherokee walked away with a 72-63 victory over Tuscola. That's another feather in the cap for Cherokee, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Cherokee to victory were Elijah Lineberry and Jack Teesateskie. Lineberry scored 17 points, while Teesateskie scored 20 points. Savian Davis was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Cherokee's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Tuscola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Cherokee will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tuscola, they will be playing at home against Madison at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
