Lightridge has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Briar Woods Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Lightridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Falcons are ranked third).
While Lightridge couldn't quite beat the Ram on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 34-point loss they were dealt on Wednesday. Lightridge fell just short of the Ram by a score of 46-43. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lightridge in their matchups with the Ram: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Briar Woods entered their tilt with the Panthers with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Briar Woods took down the Panthers 54-39 on Friday.
Hope Drake continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last nine games she's played. Sienna Casillas was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Lightridge's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Briar Woods, their win bumped their record up to 19-1.
Lightridge was taken down by the Falcons 67-33 when the teams last played on Wednesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Drake, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
