Trivium Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 12-5 walloping at the hands of the Phoenix Country Day Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Trivium Prep of the  19-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
  Isaiah Lopez put in work while hitting and pitching. He  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Lopez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Lopez wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jackson Powers, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 On Phoenix Country Day's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Frank Kaplan, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Logan Rose, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Trivium Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Phoenix Country Day, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matches,  which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record  this season.
 Trivium Prep will head out on the road to  challenge  Kingman Academy at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Kingman Academy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last. As for Phoenix Country Day, they will be playing at home against Madison Highland Prep at 3:45  p.m.  on Thursday.
