Calvary Christian Academy is 0-10 against MAST Community Charter since May of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. One thing working in Calvary Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
Calvary Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 25-14 margin over George School on Tuesday. Calvary Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Caleb Leader made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Calvary Christian Academy is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Leader was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Leader wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Flasnburg, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Flasnburg is becoming a predictor of Calvary Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another was Gary Wilcox, who earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Calvary Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.8.
Meanwhile, MAST Community Charter posted their closest victory since May 3, 2024 last Tuesday. They skirted past Collegium Charter 7-5. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cougar recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Nicholas Carsley was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Carsley was also big at the plate, earning one run and three stolen bases.
In other batting news, Mason Haldeman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. David Kondravy was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Calvary Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for MAST Community Charter, the victory also got them back to even at 5-5.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Calvary Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. However, it's not like MAST Community Charter struggles in that department as they've averaged .467. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Calvary Christian Academy couldn't quite finish off MAST Community Charter in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2.
