The Tenaha Tigers waltzed into Friday's game with four straight wins but they left with five. Everything went their way against Overton as Tenaha made off with a 41-21 win. Tenaha might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 20 points or more this season.
Tenaha's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Reese led the charge by rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Brikelian Kenney, who threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Overton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Still, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Tenaha's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Overton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tenaha will take on Hull-Daisetta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Overton, they will be playing at home against Evadale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant receivers against one another: Ethan Buford and Still.
