After flying high against Grace Brethren Christian last Thursday, the Thomas Stone Cougars came back down to earth. Thomas Stone was dealt a 53-5 defeat at the hands of North Point on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Thomas Stone has scored all season.
Makaiya Tucker was Thomas Stone's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Thomas Stone dropped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for North Point, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Thomas Stone will head out on the road to challenge Patuxent at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Patuxent is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for North Point, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Goretti at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Goretti is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
