Basketball Recap: Mercy Career & Technical Finds Playoff Glory Versus Kohelet Yeshiva

With a playoff win on the line, Mercy Career & Technical rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 64-51 victory over Kohelet Yeshiva. Given Mercy Career & Technical's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Kohelet Yeshiva is ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mercy Career & Technical got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Ford out in front who posted 15 points. Taji Stewart was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Despite the loss, Kohelet Yeshiva still got an impressive performance from Chezky Levitt, who went 13-for-21 on his way to 39 points. Levitt's afternoon made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Seth Hellman, who earned five points.

Mercy Career & Technical is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Coming up, Mercy Career & Technical will host Mesivta at 4:00 p.m. on February 18th. Mercy Career & Technical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-46 victory against Kimberton Waldorf on the 12th.
