Baseball Recap: University School of Milwaukee Victorious

University School of Milwaukee won the last time they faced Luther Prep and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Phoenix by a score of 10-5. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Will Reese made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Reese was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Augie Baum and Bryce Irwin did most of the damage at the plate: Baum got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Irwin went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three runs gave Baum a new career-high. Gabe Ciralsky was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

University School of Milwaukee's record now sits at 11-6. As for Luther Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

University School of Milwaukee will have a chance to go back-to-back against Luther Prep: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
