The Stearns Minutemen will head out to face off against the Lee Academy Pandas at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Stearns will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Greenville on Tuesday. The Minutemen put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Brady Brooker and Wiley Ward made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Brooker tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ward pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Stearns is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. At the plate, Brooker got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Ward went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emerson Michaud, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Stearns' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Waite, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Stearns kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenville only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Lee Academy was not the first on the board , but they got there more often. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Stearns. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pandas.
Lee Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Stearns, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Stearns couldn't quite get it done against Lee Academy in their previous matchup on Thursday as they fell 7-2. Can the Minutemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
