On Thursday, Mt. Carmel didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Helix, but they still walked away with a 56-52 win.
Gianni Bernabe was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with three steals. Jimmy Milder was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Mt. Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Helix, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will face off against Escondido at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Helix, they will head out on the road to face off against El Capitan at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. El Capitan will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
