The Lincolnwood Lancers will square off against the Granite City Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Lincolnwood and 12 for Granite City.
Lincolnwood suffered their biggest loss since December 18, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 51-28 walloping at the hands of Carrollton.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-30, which was the final score in Granite City's tilt against Jersey on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Granite City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Jersey is ranked 228th).
Lincolnwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Granite City, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-19.
Lincolnwood ended up a good deal behind Granite City when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 57-41. Can Lincolnwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
