The Polk County Wolverines can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Burns, posting a 59-24 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Polk County has posted yet this season.
Polk County found their leader in underclassman Bailey Staton, who scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Staton continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Bradley, who scored 17 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Polk County and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Burns, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Polk County will play host again and welcome Chase, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chase comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Burns, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bessemer City will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
