Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Dock Mennonite). They blew past The Christian Academy 17-3 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pioneers needed considering they were shut out in their previous   match.
 Avery Kutzner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   two  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That  double was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Nora Osifchin, who  fired off four  doubles, four  RBI,  and two  runs while going 4-for-5. Those  doubles were  her first of the season.  Lydia Ehst was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Dock Mennonite  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 18  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
Dock Mennonite's record now sits at 5-3. As for The Christian Academy, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dock Mennonite will venture away from home to  face off against Calvary Christian Academy  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Pioneers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak. As for The Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to  square off against King's Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
