Orange is 7-2 against Millburn since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Orange Tornadoes will head out on the road to take on the Millburn Millers at 4:00 p.m. Orange knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Millburn likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Orange earned a 63-54 victory over Bloomfield. Given Orange's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Bloomfield is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Millburn's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 54-47 to North Star Academy. Millburn has not had much luck with North Star Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Millburn's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Plotkin, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Zach Benmorits who scored 16 points. Benmorits hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chace Redler, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Millburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Orange's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Millburn, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Orange came up short against Millburn in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 54-47. Can Orange avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
