The Prout Crusaders will face off against the North Providence Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Prout's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so North Providence's offense will have their work cut out for them.
North Providence will be up against a hot Prout team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Prout's way against Central Falls/Blackstone Valley Prep last Thursday as Prout made off with a 47-26 victory. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Erin Young continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 12 points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024. Millie Maher was another key player, scoring six points along with seven boards and six steals.
Prout smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, North Providence rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 52-34. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.
Prout better keep an eye on Riddhi Mistry. She was instrumental in North Providence's win, earning 13 points and five steals. They are 11-3 when Mistry posts three or more steals, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Marianna Xavier, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 12 points.
Prout pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.4 points over those games. As for North Providence, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Prout has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 39.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Providence struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Prout and North Providence were neck-and-neck when the teams last played two weeks ago, but Prout came up empty-handed after a 38-37 defeat. Will Prout have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
