Foothill is 8-2 against Red Bluff since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will host the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Foothill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Foothill made easy work of Enterprise and carried off a 9-3 victory. Considering the Cougars have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Elisea Wiegand made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Foothill got a big performance out of TatiAnna Seuasoukseng, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Seuasoukseng a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bates, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Foothill hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Red Bluff came up short against Chico on Friday and fell 6-2.
Like Foothill, Red Bluff also got a great game from a two-way player: Mattison Kwarta. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Kwarta was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Kwarta wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Newport, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Foothill's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Red Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-1.
