Basketball Recap: Texas Empowerment Academy's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Texas Empowerment Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Harmony Science Academy Tigers by a score of 49-41. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-58 back in November.

Texas Empowerment Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justis Conway, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Camerin Hawkins, who had 11 points.

Defeat or not, Harmony Science Academy got some senior leadership from Issa Well and Reese Herd. Well put up 16 points and seven blocks, while Herd earned eight points and seven assists. That was a full 39% of Harmony Science Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tensae Laki, who had six points.

Texas Empowerment Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Harmony Science Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Texas Empowerment Academy will head out to challenge East Austin College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Texas Empowerment Academy is facing East Austin College Prep at the right time seeing as East Austin College Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Harmony Science Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Harmony Science Academy Tigers take on the Meridian Lions at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
