Nicolet is 10-0 against Hartford since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Nicolet Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Hartford Orioles at 7:00 p.m. Nicolet knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matches -- so hopefully Hartford likes a good challenge.
Nicolet can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Slinger 84-44 at home. Given Nicolet's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Slinger is ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nicolet got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Landrum jr. out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of David Bolden, who scored eight points along with seven assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Hartford pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 83-65 bruising from Cedarburg. Hartford has struggled against Cedarburg recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Nicolet's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.2 points per game. As for Hartford, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Everything came up roses for Nicolet against Hartford in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 110-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nicolet since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
