After only seven points in their last matchup, Cumberland made sure to put some points up on the board against Sullivan on Saturday. The Pirates enjoyed a cozy 35-21 win over the Redskins. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Smith, who threw for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes. Aiden Dinger helped Smith out on the ground, rushing for 116 yards.
Cumberland's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Sullivan, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-2.
