The Manchester Greyhounds will square off against the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Manchester's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Fayetteville-Perry has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Manchester is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand West Union a 14-0 shutout on Wednesday. With that victory, the Greyhounds brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Clayton Colvin was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Inman, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Manchester hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Union struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Fayetteville-Perry sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Peebles on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rockets have posted against the Indians since April 11, 2019.
AJ Roy made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. Roy was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryder Luncan, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Braedyn Crone was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Fayetteville-Perry's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Manchester, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Manchester has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fayetteville-Perry struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Manchester came out on top in a nail-biter against Fayetteville-Perry in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Greyhounds repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
