It was a good run, but The Weiss Wolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a rough 41-17 loss at the hands of Midway. Weiss was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Midway apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Weiss still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Brazzle, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Midway was led to victory by Lathan Whisenton and Ty Brown. Whisenton rushed for 132 yards, while Brown threw for 200 yards and a touchdown. Ramone Conway did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards.
Weiss' defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Midway, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Weiss will be playing in front of their home fans against Hutto on Thursday. Hutto has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 233 points over their last five contests. Midway will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Waxahachie at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Waxahachie is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
