The Albuquerque Academy Chargers came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Robertson by a score of 54-41. For Albuquerque Academy, this counts as revenge for the 34-29 loss Robertson walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2020.
Addie Spratley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Capps, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Robertson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyxa King-Greenwalt, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Natalia Martinez, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Albuquerque Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Robertson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Albuquerque Academy on the road again on Friday and play against St. Pius X at 5:15 p.m. on January 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (St. Pius X is ranked 15th, while Albuquerque Academy is ranked 31st). Robertson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Moriarty at 2:00 p.m. on January 12th.
