The Horse Creek Academy Stallions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-26 walloping at the hands of Northside Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Horse Creek Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Crusaders are ranked 131st).
Leading Northside Christian Academy to victory were Campbell Childers and Maddie Coker. Childers scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Coker scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Natalie Walke was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
Horse Creek Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Northside Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Horse Creek Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mead Hall Episcopal School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Northside Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Generals at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Thomas Sumter Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
