The Lakota East Thunderhawks were the 67-60 winner over Mount Notre Dame when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Lakota East took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Notre Dame on Tuesday. Lakota East has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loss or not, Lakota East got some senior leadership from Emma Fohl who scored 14 points along with 3 steals and Celina Blount who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Blount scored a full 28.9% of Lakota East's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mount Notre Dame can attribute much of their success to Kailee Bransford, who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Laila Harrison, who scored 10 points.
Lakota East has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 1-3 record. As for Mount Notre Dame, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakota East will take on Fairfield at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mount Notre Dame, they will head out on the road to face off against Seton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
