Summer Creek faced Atascocita in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-4. The victory was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on four straight.
Torie Turner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Maciel, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Summer Creek hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four strikeouts batters in six consecutive games.
