Williamsburg has gone 9-1 against Georgetown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the G-Men at 5:00 p.m. Williamsburg will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Williamsburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mariemont a 20-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Gracie Graves and Alyssa Vearil made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Graves pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Vearil struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Graves has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Graves went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Vearil went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Williamsburg got a massive performance out of Julia Johnson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaityln Pollitt, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Williamsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mariemont struck out 14 times.
Meanwhile, Georgetown hadn't done well against Clermont Northeastern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The G-Men narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rockets 9-7. The game was the first time the G-Men have beaten the Rockets on their field since May 5, 2021.
Carolyn Edmisten was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Ava Vest was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Williamsburg pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Georgetown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Williamsburg took their win against Georgetown when the teams last played on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the G-Men have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
