The Independence Home School Lions waltzed into their game Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 45-40 W over Christ Prep Academy. For Independence Home School, this counts as revenge for the 60-33 loss Christ Prep Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2022.
Independence Home School found their leader in underclassman Tate Beeson, who scored 13 points. Dalton Young was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Independence Home School's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Christ Prep Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Independence Home School and Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Christ Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ozanam at 12:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
