The Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders and the Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders had to settle for second. Bishop Guilfoyle suffered a rough 36-14 loss at the hands of Bald Eagle Area. While losing is never fun, Bishop Guilfoyle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Bald Eagle Area is ranked 99th).
Despite the loss, Bishop Guilfoyle still got an impressive performance from Kaden Wyandt, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Even if they lost, Bishop Guilfoyle's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Bald Eagle Area's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Connor McElheny and his two sacks.
It was another big night for Cameron Dubbs, who rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Bald Eagle Area also got help from Camron Watkins who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Bishop Guilfoyle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Bald Eagle Area, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Bishop Guilfoyle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bald Eagle Area will play host again and welcome Forest Hills, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hills is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
