The Elbert Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 50-33 fall against Limon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elbert has scored all season.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan LaFollette, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Cornell, who scored nine points.
Elbert's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Limon, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elbert will stay at home for another game and welcome Deer Trail at 4:30 p.m. on January 18th. Deer Trail comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Limon, Limon and Evangel Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Evangel Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Limon is ranked 82nd).
