Dontrell Mims Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Hoke County got the W thanks in part to Dontrell Mims playing the best football he has all season. Mims picked up 5.5 sacks and made ten total tackles.
Hoke County moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Mims' next contest is against Union Pines on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Zymire Spencer Dazzles in Pinecrest Victory
Zymire Spencer's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his fifth-straight game with 127+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 87 yards.
Lee County's probably not too fond of Spencer given he always seems to get the better of them. Spencer rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry the last time he and the Yellow Jackets duked it out back in October of 2023.

Chris Najm Makes It Two for Pinecrest
Keeping Spencer company is Chris Najm, a fellow Pinecrest player. He rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.
On the season, Najm has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 98.3 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had five rushing touchdowns.

Sims Came Up Big in Southern Lee's 20-14 Defeat
Southern Lee was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Robert Sims did his best to prevent it. Despite the loss, Sims was still balling out as he rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Southern Lee is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. Sims and Southern Lee will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Union Pines at 7:30 p.m. on October 25th.
