Bennington has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Concordia Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bennington is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Concordia in Nebraska (Bennington is ranked 23rd, while Concordia is ranked 217th).
Bennington has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Gross Catholic. The victory was just what Bennington needed coming off of a 69-42 defeat in their prior matchup.
Bennington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Presley Baca, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Baca's third in a row with at least ten points. Regan Bluhm was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Concordia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Scotus at home and fell 54-10.
Bennington's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Concordia, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Everything came up roses for Bennington against Concordia in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 61-34 victory. Does Bennington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Concordia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
