The Westside Rams's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Boiling Springs Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Westside humbled Powdersville with a 58-24 victory. Given Westside's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Powdersville is ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westside relied on the efforts of Khalia Hartwell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, and Asia Clinkscales, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. Hartwell continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ahrianna Scott, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Boiling Springs waltzed into their contest Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 51-31 margin over Union County.
Boiling Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sarah Ezell out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Ezell is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karina Tsisun, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Westside's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Boiling Springs, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Westside was able to grind out a solid win over Boiling Springs in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, winning 43-34. Does Westside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Boiling Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
