The Versailles Tigers posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They put the hurt on Bellefontaine with a sharp 53-31 victory. Given Versailles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Bellefontaine is ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Chieftains players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quinlan Zedeker, who scored nine points along with two steals. Zedeker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Robinson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Versailles pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Bellefontaine, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Versailles will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Minster at 7:00 p.m. Minster will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Bellefontaine, they will head out on the road to face off against Graham Local at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Graham Local focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
