The Altamont Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They suffered a tough 65-41 loss at the hands of Rich. Altamont was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-14.
Altamont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grayson Panas, who scored 15 points along with five blocks. Panas has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Arnold, who scored ten points.
Altamont struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rich pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Rich was led to victory by Jaden Desch and Carter Hoffman. Desch scored 14 points, while Hoffman scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Hoffman scored 15 or more points. Carson Muirbrook was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Altamont's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Rich, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altamont and Manila will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rich won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wendover at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th. Wendover will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
