After losing to the East Greenwich Avengers the last time they met, the Cranston East Thunderbolts decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Cranston East walked away with a 51-41 win over the Avengers on Wednesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cranston East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mya Jiminez, who scored 22 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Jiminez has scored at least a third of Cranston East's points. Samantha Vernancio was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Cranston East's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for East Greenwich, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Cranston East will head out on the road to face off against the Kilties at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Greenwich, they will be playing at home against the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
