St. Charles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Lackey for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-25 win on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-16.
McKenzie Thomas was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nayja Richardson, who scored 13 points.
St. Charles pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.11 points. As for Lackey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Charles won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Douglass at 10:00 a.m. on January 27th. Douglass is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Lackey, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Thomas Stone at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st.
