The Judson Rockets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 40-35 W over Clemens. Given Judson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Clemens is ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clemens lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Atiana Cook, who scored seven points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Duda Igiehon, who scored 11 points.
Judson is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season. As for Clemens, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-16.
Judson will head out on the road to square off against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Judson is coming into the match with four straight wins on the road, so San Marcos is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Clemens, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Braunfels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Clemens focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
